Ryan Place Chili Cook-Off

The 10th Annual
Ryan Place Chili Appreciation Society Chili Cook-Off
and
Vin Fiz Landing Centennial Commemoration

	Saturday, October 15, 2011 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. Location Ryan Place Park 3001 5th Ave. Bring your lawn chairs, or blankets, a picnic, and coolers for a FREE fun-filled evening! Featuring The Big D Licious Band Please bring donations! Canned food and/or new socks.
Contestants arrive at 3 p.m. for set-up. Registration by 3:30 Due to time schedules please arrive with your chili cooked and only in need of heating. Chilies entered for the "Hottest Chili Award" must be edible! Due to limited space, cook-off entries are limited to Ryan Place residents.		Judging begins by 5:00 Winners announced by 6:00 Tables and electrical supply will be provided. Bring your own extension cords, bowls, spoons and table decorations. 	Calbraith P. Rodgers, pilot of the first transcontinental flight, landing the "Vin Fiz" Wright Biplane in Ryan's pasture on Tuesday, October 17, 1911 at 4:15. Please join us to commemorate this historic aviation event. A proclamation from the City of Fort Worth and resolutions from the State Senate and House of Representatives will be presented. Returns to the Ryan Place stage!

We are excited that The Big D Licious Band will be performing for another Ryan Place event!
Band leader, Danny Anguiano, is flying in from Mexico and will be performing!

R.A.P.I.D. Registration
4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Eartha Pitre, City of Fort Worth Crime Prevention Specialist, will issue property identification labels.
Complete the registration form and bring it with you,
or bring your driver’s license and register to receive property identification labels.
R.A.P.I.D. labels aid police in recovering stolen property.

Ryan Place, a giving community Program

RPIA launched a community giving program in 2009 to promote Ryan Place resident's giving spirit. The Ryan Place, a giving community Program (RPGC) will conduct donation drives to benefit charities throughout the year. Each RPGC drive will have a goal for specific items needed by the benefiting charities. Donation request will be for tangible items such as food, clothing, toiletries, furniture, or your pledge of volunteer time. This program will not request, or accept, monetary donations. Donations will benefit:

Tarrant County Food Bank

Please bring
donations of
canned goods
and/or new adult or
children socks.

Presbyterian Night Shelter

This event will be canceled for inclement weather and will not be rescheduled.
