Joel has been a Fort Worth Officer since 2005. Starting his patrol career, and spent two years, in the South/Central area that comprise Ryan Place. In July of 2007, he was given the task of beginning a Transient Detail to respond to, and eliminate, part one crimes committed by the homeless in this area. The Detail was very successful and in early 2008 was expanded to all of Central Division. Five Officers were also designated to working the Detail and Joel had the honor of training ten officers that have served on the detail.

Joel has always enjoyed working in the Ryan Place neighborhood and quickly submitted his intent to take over Ron Andriotto's position, when it became available. "I am very excited to be able to concentrate on a smaller area now and an area that I have come to enjoy and appreciate over the years. I am enforcement minded and am looking forward to working with everyone in the neighborhood to solve any issues that may come up."

Crime Tips:

The more I drive around the neighborhood, it is increasingly apparent that some type of work is being done on many properties everyday. This work could be lawn work, remodeling, etc. Please schedule work to be done in/on your home when you are available to be home while the work is being completed. Pay attention to the workers that you hire to make sure that they are doing just that, completing the work you hired them for. Limit access to your home if possible while work is being completed (keep doors closed and locked, blinds closed, etc.). If you cannot be home while work is being done on your property, let a neighbor know who is supposed to be at your home-what they are supposed to be doing while there-what time they should be there and leave.

Everyone needs to be aware of there surroundings at all times and any suspicious activity, even from hired workers, should be reported to the Police at the time it is witnessed.
