6th Avenue Gate Accident

Friday evening, August 6, 2011, a vehicle collided with one of the gate columns on the east side of 6th Avenue. At this time complete details are not known, but according to the police the driver is not insured. The City has been contacted to ask what assistance they will provide to rebuild the column. Below are pictures of the damage to the gate that was original to the neighborhood.

August 28, 2011 - Update
The City's T/PW department removed the column remains the week of August 22nd. The pieces were moved to the City's Southeast Service Center. The City will request bids from masonry businesses to determine the cost of rebuilding. A decision has not been made as to who will pay for the column to be rebuilt.
